        Regulation Express | South Korea RRA issued Announcement No. 2025-41, updating multiple EMC standard test requirements!

        On June 5, 2025, the Korean National Radio Research Agency (RRA) issued Announcement No. 2025-41 to revise the EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) test standards for some wireless devices, involving version updates of multiple KS standards. The new regulations will affect the certification process of wireless communications, broadband equipment and DECT products. Enterprises need to adjust the test plan in time to ensure compliance.

        The standard version updates involved are as follows

        The main changes are as follows

        1. KS X 3124:2024 (General EMC Standard)

        ◆ Updated to ETSI EN 301 489-1:2019, and the radiated immunity (Radiated Immunity) and conducted emission (Conducted Emissions) test limits may be adjusted.

        ◆ Applicable to all wireless communication devices, such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, cellular modules, etc.

        2. KS X 3126:2024 (EMC standard for broadband equipment)

        ◆ Updated to ETSI EN 301 489-17:2020, which may affect the test methods of 5G/Wi-Fi 6 equipment.

        3. KS X 3128:2024 (EMC standard for DECT equipment)

        ◆ Adopting the latest version of ETSI standard (V2.2.1), it may strengthen the test requirements for harmonic current (Harmonics) and voltage fluctuation (Flicker).
