What is PSE certification?
PSE certification is a Japanese compulsory safety certification, which is used to prove that electrical and electronic products have passed the safety standard test of the Japanese Electrical and Material Safety Law (DENAN Law) or the international IEC standard. Japan’s DENTORL Law (Electrical Device and Material Control Law) stipulates that 498 products must pass safety certification to enter the Japanese market. Among them, 165 types of A products should obtain the diamond-shaped PSE mark, and 333 types of B products should obtain the round PSE mark.
PSE certification process
1. PSE certification application form;
2. Factory inspection questionnaire (when applying for specific electrical appliances);
3. A copy of the business license of the applicant, manufacturer, and production plant;
4. Product manual;
5. A description of the differences between products of various models in the same application unit;
6. List of key components or main raw materials;
7. Product size drawing, assembly drawing and size drawing of each part;
8. The authorization certificate issued by the manufacturer (when applicable);
9. Other required documents.
PSE certificate validity period
Validity period of A-type diamond certificate: 3 years, 5 years, 7 years (depending on the product situation)
Validity of Type B round certificate: 1 year, 2 years, 3 years (depending on the product situation)
